What a fun weekend!
Mom, Dad and I drove up to Grandma and Grandpa's farm to spend Memorial Day with them and lots of other family members.
We packed a picnic lunch and ate under the trees next to Grandma and Grandpa's cabin. We had sandwiches, salad, chips and fruit. I got to have my own little sandwich.
After lunch, it was time for the washers tournament. I had never seen this game played before. I kept trying to stick my nose in the box where the washers have to land to score points. There wasn't any food in there!
It was the girls vs. the guys. Mom and Aunt Judy won against Uncle Gary and Uncle Dana.
Then it rained a little, but that was fine. After the sun came out again, Grandpa led the way on the hunt for arrowheads. We walked all over the farm and looked for arrowheads and interesting rocks. Mom found a couple of arrowhead pieces and a rock with a plant fossil in it. It was fun to go exploring and smell all the good
smells. Daddy found a little turtle and brought it back. My cousin, Mary, loves turtles. Here is a photo of Mary and the turtle.
Later, we had fried chicken for supper. Yum!!! After supper, Dad helped Grandpa tag one of the cows. I wanted to go in the corral and play with them, but Mom and Dad wouldn't let me.
Awww! The bull did look awful big, though. I guess it was smarter just to peek through the gates.
Here is a photo of Grandpa and the cows.
